Classes meet in-person one full day each week (Saturdays 9:30a-5:30p). Our format includes discussion, demonstration, hands-on exercises, live artist sessions, mentorship and independent project work with personalized feedback. The last hour of each class day is dedicated to elective lab time where students can opt to stay and gain even more practice and personalized attention.
There's no better place to learn the recording process than hands-on in real working studios where artists such as Lady Gaga, Macklemore, Alice in Chains, Vance Joy and Lil' Yachty have come to work, to name just a few. Students gain access to world class equipment and train under professional audio engineers across some of Seattle's finest recording environments.
By electing to keep our class sizes very small (6 students max), we naturally have the time and availability for Q&A and mentorship throughout every class. During the course, each student additionally receives two private one on one sessions with an instructor to personally evaluate and guide on their micing and console mixing techniques.
