Joe has over twenty five years professional experience as a musician, engineer, producer and is the owner of Orbit Audio, one of Seattle’s premiere recording studios. In 2014, Orbit Audio received a platinum record for its work on Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ multi-Grammy-winning album, The Heist.

Joe has over twenty five years professional experience as a musician, engineer, producer and is the owner of Orbit Audio, one of Seattle’s premiere recording studios. In 2014, Orbit Audio received a platinum record for its work on Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ multi-Grammy-winning album, The Heist. Joe brings a first-hand understanding of today’s music business, its demands and opportunities along with a stellar network of long-term relationships in the arts and music community. He’s been an independent audio educator for nearly a decade and is also an AVID-Certified Pro Tools Instructor.

Starting out as a fiery young musician in the 80′s punk scene, Joe soon became a leading songwriter, guitarist and vocalist, forming The Meices (San Francisco) in the 90’s, later Alien Crime Syndicate (Seattle) and currently, Society of the Silver Cross (Seattle). His efforts resulted in three major label recording contracts (London, Warner Bros. and V2) along with numerous indie releases. His music has aired in thousands of film and television broadcasts internationally, and he received a Gold Record for his contribution to the soundtrack of the film Empire Records.

Karyn Gold-Reineke

Karyn is an SRA Founder and point of contact for students from initially seeking program information all the way through graduation. She is a life-long musician, organizational wizard, great communicator and she keeps the many wheels of daily operations at SRA running smoothly. She, along with Founder Joe Reineke co-own Seattle's legendary recording studio, Orbit Audio, and together formed the band, Society of the Silver Cross (2017-present) where she's a songwriter, co-producer, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and international performer.

Karyn is an SRA Founder and point of contact for students from initially seeking program information all the way through graduation. As a business instructor, Karyn leans into the spirit of business or how one's inner state is foundational to their outer accomplishments - "inner engineering" as she calls it. She is especially passionate about helping others gain new awareness and insights that can lead to breakthroughs and a sense of empowerment. Her zen approach adds a refreshing twist to understanding and personalizing valuable success principles for creative commerce. Karyn is also the owner of award-winning artisan perfume company Pirouette (est. 2008) and brings nearly fifteen years of first-hand knowledge and working experience in entrepreneurship, the arts and music.

Robbie Houston

Audio Engineering Instructor

Robbie Houston is a Seattle-based music producer and audio engineer with over a dozen years of professional experience recording, mixing and producing independent artists of all genres and currently works as a freelance engineer at Orbit Audio. As a lifelong musician and artist, Robbie has had several record label contracts and has released a robust discography of albums and tracks. He currently plays guitar in heavy metal band Skeletor (est. 1998) and psych rock band Dust Mice.

“I enjoy all aspects of the creative process with music. As a producer and engineer, my goal is always to use my technical knowledge to help the artist realize their own creative vision as much as possible.”

He earned his BA in Music Technology from the University of California, San Diego, and currently works as a freelance engineer at Orbit Audio. As a lifelong musician and artist, Robbie is passionate about writing music and playing guitar. Over the past two decades, he’s had several record label contracts and has released a robust discography of albums and tracks. He currently plays guitar in heavy metal band Skeletor (est. 1998) and psych rock band Dust Mice.

Brian Raffuel

Audio Engineering Instructor,
AVID Certified Pro Tools Instructor

Brian’s passion for music started at a young age and he’s been pursuing the dream ever since. He’s an all-star graduate of SRA’s Audio Engineering program, and was so great, we decided to snatch him up for ourselves! Brian often assists as a right-hand man during the Audio Engineering Level 2 course and is also an AVID-Certified Pro Tools Instructor.

He earned a degree in Business and Entrepreneurship from Ryder University and during that time hosted his own radio show, started a label and began working as a DJ while exploring beat production. Brian works professionally as an Audio Engineer and producer at our very own Orbit Audio’s Studio B, specializing in hip-hop and electronic music, client highlights include Shordie Shordie, Ryan Lewis, TM88 and Rico Nasty to name a few.

Bahaa Sadak

Ableton Live Instructor

With the foundations of a classically trained musician, Bahaa Sadak has dedicated his life to all aspects of music: from creation and production, to entrepreneurship and teaching. He has produced for radio stations (e.g., KZOK), and has served on the teams of Behringer, Turbo Sound, Midas, Bugera and Klark Technique and is a product specialist and trainer with Casio America.

Bahaa's passion for teaching music and all aspects of recording and production has connected him with students across the globe.

Keith Sjoquist

Sound Design for
Video Games Instructor

Keith has been working in sound for video games for over a decade and is currently a Sound Designer at Bungie. He has been fortunate enough to have a long career in game audio that spans many consoles and genres and many game titles including Destiny 2, Crackdown, Fable 2, Gears of War 2, Mass Effect, Age of Empires: Asian Dynasties, and critically acclaimed VR projects: The Impossible Travel Agency and Seance: The Unquiet among many others.

“I believe that audio is the most important ingredient in any media project: It carries the narrative, communicates the emotion, connects directly to the user’s imagination and fully immerses them in the experience.”

Keith has been working in sound for video games for over a decade and is currently a Sound Designer at Bungie currently working on Destiny 2. He began his professional career at Microsoft Game Studios as a field recordist for the Forza and Project Gotham Racing franchises. While at Microsoft, Keith contributed sound design to many titles including Crackdown, Fable 2, Gears of War 2, Mass Effect, Age of Empires: Asian Dynasties and many others. After leaving Microsoft, he worked for Sony as audio lead for MAG (Massive Action Game) at Zipper Interactive and as Senior Sound Designer on Unit 13, a launch title for the PlayStation Vita. He then returned to Microsoft as Audio Lead for the Xbox One launch title: Xbox Fitness. Soon after, Keith made his next move to Audio Director at Fun Bits Interactive, followed by Audio Director at Holospark where he released the critically acclaimed VR projects The Impossible Travel Agency and Séance: The Unquiet.
